Who Can Do Stage Hypnotism?
Pretty much anyone who can 'do'
hypnotism, can stand in front of an audience and be brave, confident &
quick thinking. It's not a job for the faint hearted as it is a profession that
relies on audience participation for the show. No volunteers, no performance!
And probably no recognition either. The stars of the show are your volunteers
What's The Difference Between Stage or Street Hypnosis & Hypnotherapy?
The obvious differences are that hypnotherapy is generally one on one, but then
again so is Street Hypnosis. Street & Stage Hypnosis are always for the
entertainment of others whereas hypnotherapy is purely theraputic. In the end
though it is all hypnosis and the only real difference is the intent.
What are the legalities of Stage & Street Hypnotism?
The
biggest legality is known as the 1952 Stage Hypnotism Act along with the 1989
review. Public Liability Insurance is vastly higher for performance hypnosis
and is a requirement along with 28 days notice to obtain a license from the
local council prior to doing a show.
How do I learn Stage Hypnosis?
Anyone who will teach you hypnosis will be able to give you the basics, but the
stage-craft side is best taught by someone who has been there. This is definitely
one side of hypnosis where I am happy to point you to other people. Feel free

HYPNOSIS MYTH BUSTER
You won't come out of hypnosis with a headache unless you upset the hypnotist before you went into trance, and if you're that upset you wouldn't trust the hypnotist to put you under anyway.
